As designers, we aim to be good at simplifying complex ideas or problems. This should extend to everything we do.

Tip 1: Always use the simplest word available

“Any word you have to hunt for in the Thesauras is the wrong work. There are no exceptions to this rule”

Tip 2: Try saying it out loud. Then write it down

“Explain it like I am a 4 year old”

Tip 3: Be as succinct as possible

And take new sentences often

“I didn’t have time to write you a short letter so I wrote you a long one”

Sometimes it is important for us to know and use certain industry terminology. However, avoid overuse and definitely avoid jargon (business terms)
