In this class, we learnt about ProtoPie. ProtoPie is a prototyping tool that allows designers to create realistic, high-fidelity prototypes for various digital products, including mobile apps, websites, and IoT devices, without needing to write code. It allows us to have that extra interaction with our designs. We are able to import our designs from Figma to Protopie so I will continue to use Figma for my interaction and import it to Protopie.
First of all, we imported already imbedded code of 2 graphics that we will use as the speaking and press to speak button. Using triggers on the right hand side, we programmed the screen to tap the button (idle) and it activates the voice recognition. After programming it for whenever I say “Hello”, the software will give a response saying “hello, nice to meet you. Let me know if you need any assistance”
Furthermore, another feature is the camera which we learnt about. I used the same feature where I press a button and it turns on my phone camera. I can also then use the speaking feature.
This is a great feature as it helps with it all, and with further learning, I can make the programme take a photo.
Overall, I have really enjoyed this class. I have had a lot of confusion on how to create an automated digital product in Figma. I am glad to have done this as it gave me more confidence to turn my digital product more automated, improving how it looks and turning it from theory to practise.
